FAQ
US Visa Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between B-1 and B-2?
B-1 is a business visa for short-term meetings, conferences, and negotiations. B-2 is a tourist visa for leisure and family visits. In practice, the US Embassy typically issues a combined B1/B2 visa, allowing the holder to travel for both purposes on a single document.
Does everyone need to attend an interview?
Yes. Since September 2025, the US has eliminated Interview Waivers for almost all visa categories. All applicants must attend an in-person interview at the US Embassy in Bangkok or the Consulate in Chiang Mai. You cannot send someone on your behalf.
How long is the interview wait time?
Current wait times are approximately 1–3 months or more, depending on the time of year and application volume. We recommend applying at least 3–4 months before your travel date. We help you book your slot and track its status.
Can you guarantee approval?
No one can guarantee a visa outcome — the final decision rests entirely with the US consular officer. However, we prepare the strongest possible application and coach you thoroughly to give you the best chance of approval.
How long is a US B1/B2 visa valid?
A B1/B2 visa is typically valid for 10 years with multiple entry. Each stay is limited to a maximum of 6 months as determined by a border officer upon entry. The actual validity granted depends on the issuing consular officer's discretion.
What happens if my visa is refused?
If your visa is refused, we refund ฿5,000 immediately. The $185 MRV fee is a US Government charge and cannot be refunded under any circumstances. If you wish to reapply, we are ready to assist at a special discounted rate for returning clients.
