Before you apply
DTV Eligibility Requirements
Set by the Royal Thai Embassy — we verify your specific embassy's rules as part of our service.
💰 Bank Balance Most critical
Minimum 500,000 THB (~$14,000 USD) in a personal savings or current account. Must be consistently maintained — not a recent lump sum. Most embassies require 3–6 months of bank statements showing this balance throughout.
✈️ Apply from Outside Thailand Required
You must apply at a Thai embassy or consulate outside Thailand — in your home country or current country of residence. The DTV cannot be obtained or converted while you are already inside Thailand.
🏦 Accepted Proof of Funds
Personal savings or current account statements in your name. Foreign currency accounts are accepted at current exchange rates. Multiple personal accounts may be combined to meet the threshold.
⚠️ What Does NOT Count Important
Cryptocurrency, stocks, mutual funds, business accounts, and PayPal are not accepted. Cash deposited as a lump sum immediately before applying may raise concerns and lead to refusal.
📘 Valid Passport
Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the application date. A recent passport-sized photo against a white background is also required.
📋 Proof of Qualifying Activity
A Letter of Acceptance from an officially registered Muay Thai camp is required. We provide this as part of our package — issued by our fully licensed, registered camp in Hua Hin.
Our Muay Thai Camp in Hua Hin
We work exclusively with one of Hua Hin's most reputable Muay Thai camps — fully licensed, registered with Thai authorities, and officially recognised for DTV qualification purposes. All levels welcome, from complete beginners to experienced fighters.

Common questions
DTV Visa FAQ
What is the DTV (Destination Thailand Visa)?
The DTV is a 5-year multiple-entry visa allowing stays of up to 180 days per entry in Thailand. Launched in mid-2024, it is designed for remote workers, digital nomads, and people participating in Thai Soft Power activities — including Muay Thai training, cooking classes, sports, and medical treatment. Each stay can be extended for a further 180 days at an immigration office.
Do I really need 500,000 THB in my bank account?
Yes — this is the single most critical requirement set by the Thai government. You must show a personal bank account with a minimum balance of 500,000 THB (~$14,000 USD) maintained consistently for at least 3 months before applying. Foreign currency accounts are acceptable at current exchange rates. Cryptocurrency, stocks, and business accounts do not count. Contact us for a free eligibility check before proceeding.
Can I apply for the DTV while I am in Thailand?
No — the DTV must be applied for from outside Thailand at a Thai embassy or consulate. It cannot be obtained or converted from another visa type while inside Thailand. If you are currently in Thailand, you will need to travel to a neighbouring country to apply. We can advise on the best approach for your situation.
Why is there a separate price for New Zealand applicants?
The Royal Thai Embassy in New Zealand charges a significantly higher visa fee than almost every other Thai embassy worldwide. This fee is set entirely by the embassy and is outside our control. The ฿108,000 package for New Zealand applicants reflects this difference transparently — our service and Muay Thai programme are identical to the standard package.
Can I work remotely on a DTV?
Yes — remote work for foreign employers or international clients is permitted under the DTV. However, you cannot work for Thai companies or clients, and a Thai work permit is not included. If you stay in Thailand for 180 days or more in a calendar year you may be classified as a Thai tax resident — we recommend consulting a tax professional regarding your specific situation.
What if my application is refused?
If your application is refused, you have two options. We can resubmit your application at no extra charge — including all fees and document preparation. Alternatively, if you prefer not to reapply, we will refund 80% of your package fee. We begin with a thorough eligibility check specifically to minimise the risk of refusal, so this situation is rare.
